What we took away from Sign & Print Pack 2026
On 16–17 September, Sollex exhibited at Sign & Print Pack in Odense. At stand 3206, we met both existing customers and new contacts and had a lot of useful conversations about something we work with every day, cutting.

On 16–17 September, Sollex exhibited at Sign & Print Pack in Odense. At stand 3206, we met both existing customers and new contacts and had many useful conversations about something we work with every day, cutting.
For us, the most interesting part of the exhibition was hearing about the actual challenges companies are dealing with in production.
Cutting challenges we heard about
Several visitors talked about challenges when cutting materials such as Plexiglas and acrylic. The shape of the blade, cutting angle and cutting edge, as well as the composition of the material and any additives, can all affect how clean and consistent the cut will be.
Another recurring topic was how often blades need to be replaced in cutting machines. In production environments where machines
run for many hours a day, or even 24/7, longer blade life can reduce both production stops and the amount of time operators need to spend changing blades.
We also had several discussions about cutting large-format materials such as mesh, textiles and display fabrics. These materials can be difficult to cut cleanly and consistently, especially when their behaviour varies depending on the structure and construction of the material.
It was also interesting to see how many different types of cutting machines and cutting tables are used for similar materials. The same material can require very different blades depending on the machine, cutting speed and the type of cut you want to achieve.
One of our main takeaways from Odense was that there is still a lot of room for improvement in the cutting process itself. In many cases, improving the result does not mean changing the machine. It can be a matter of finding the right blade, cutting angle, edge design or blade material for the application.
