Swann Morton scalpel blades that does not fit handles from China
We have recently noticed that customers like folding knives for scalpel. The advantage of a hobby knife for precision and fine work is that it can easily be taken in your pocket. This makes it an ideal precision knife for stencils, decor, foiling, or signs, which you can always carry with you.
When Martor stopped making folding knives for scalpels for safety reasons, Sollex stopped selling them. Simply put, we believe the risk of self-injury from opening and closing the folding knife is too great. But there are scalpel folding knives to order online. Unfortunately, the dimensions of the part that holds the scalpel blade do not match.
The bracket differs by 0.2 mm in width on the narrowest part. This sounds like a minor difference, but it does mean that the Swann-Morton scalpel blade does not fit the folding knife. We choose to sell Swann-Morton's scalpel and marking knives as we find them to be of high quality and standard for all scalpels manufactured globally. To be safe, buy and use only Swann-Morton's scalpel and scalpel handle.
Swann-Morton manufactures two scalpel handles for scalpels. Swann-Morton produces two types of scalpel handles: a smaller one and a slightly larger one.
The smaller SM3 fits 18 different scalpels, and the larger SM4 fits 13 other scalpel.

FAQ
Q: Why do Swann-Morton scalpel blades not fit some folding scalpel knives?
A: Many folding scalpel knives manufactured outside the Swann-Morton standard have a blade bracket that differs by as little as 0.2 mm. This small deviation prevents Swann-Morton blades from locking correctly and safely.
Q: Is a 0.2 mm difference really enough to cause fitting problems?
A: Yes. Scalpel blades rely on precise tolerances. Even a 0.2 mm mismatch in the blade holder width can prevent proper seating, stability, and safe use.
Q: Does Sollex recommend using folding scalpel knives?
A: No. Sollex does not recommend folding scalpel knives due to the increased risk of injury when opening or closing the handle and due to frequent compatibility issues with standard scalpel blades.
Q: Which scalpel handles are compatible with Swann-Morton blades?
A: Only original Swann-Morton scalpel handles are guaranteed to match Swann-Morton blades correctly and safely.
Q: What is the difference between Swann-Morton handle No.3 and No.4?

Q: Which blades fit Swann-Morton handle No.3 (SM3)?
